Title | Mauza |
Details | A village; parcels of land having distinct name in the revenue records. [Mitra’s Legal & Commercial Dictionary]
A village, understanding by the term one or more clusters of habitations and all the lands belonging to their proprietary inhabitants; a mauza is defined by authority to be a parcel or parcels of lands having a separate name in the revenue records, and of known limits. The lands, however, are not always contiguous and compact, but may have outlying portions intermixed with those of other villages, but these are brought under one head with the rest in the revenue settlement of the Mauza.
