DetailsChar lands added by gradual accession of the river- The riparian owners of the land to which the char lands are added became the owner of the new char lands: The disputed lands were char lands thrown up by the river as an alluvial formation contiguous to mouzas. The riparian lands of the said two mouzas having appertained to the khas lands of defendants in the same right as they had in the riparian lands under the provisions of section 4 of Alluvion and Diluvion Regulation (Bengal Regulation XI of 1825) and in conformity to the principle laid down by the judicial committee in Lopez Vs.
