Details"Homestead" means a dwelling house with the land under it, together with any courtyard, garden tank, place of worship and private burial or cremation ground attached and appertaining to such dwelling house, and includes any outbuildings used for the purpose of enjoying the dwelling house or for purposes connected with agriculture or horticulture and such lands within well defined limits, whether vacant or not, as are treated to be appertaining thereto.

"homestead" means a dwelling house with-out-houses, tanks and enclosures immediately connected with it convering an area of not more than one standard bigha :

Provided that where such area exceeds one standard bigha, the excess land shall not be deemed to be homestead.
