Secondary evidence is that evidence which is copied or compiled from other sources or that is written from memory long after an event occurred. Secondary evidence that which is admitted upon failure to obtain the primary or best evidence. A party producing secondary evidence of a document is not relieved of the duty of proving the execution of the original.
