Details

"evacuee" means a person ordinarily resident in Bangladesh, who, on account of the country-wide disturbances, on or after the 25th day of March, 1971 and before the 16th day of December, 1971 left his ordinary place of residence for any place within Bangladesh or left Bangladesh for any other country and includes the legal heirs of such person.

“evacuee" means a person ordinarily resident in East Bengal, who, owing to communal disturbances, or fear thereof, leaves or has, on or after the prescribed date, left East Bengal for any part of India and includes the legal heirs of such person.

[See, section 2 (b), the Evacuee Property (Restoration of Possession Act, 1951 (East Bengal Act No. XXIII of 1951)]. [Repealed by Act No. 40 of 2002].
