Details

As soon as a piece of land is acquired in accordance with law the owner is deprived of his right. A citizen holds his property subject always to the right of the sovereign to take it for a public purpose. This right is called eminent domain. The right of eminent domain is the right of the sovereign State through its regular agencies.
